Confirmation and Church

Dear Friends,

I have been so proud of Matthew this year for many reasons. He has grown up so much and calmed down a lot too, so much that he has been able to take control of his life this year.

Matthew started taking confirmation classes this year and has surprised us by sticking with them, but also has enjoyed every lesson. He also agreed to become a helper in Church to help him with his learning. He has thoroughly enjoyed that too, starting at the run up to Easter. This is him in his robes...

Tomorrow, Matthew is being confirmed in Norwich Cathedral. I am looking forward to the occasion so much. His Great Grandma and our Neighbours are coming to the service too. Our Neighbour used to be the class helper in Junior School where Matthew went, so she also appreciates the changes that Matthew has taken and the difficulties he has gone through.

On top of this, Matthew has also started doing Kung-Fu since Easter. He joined his friends at a club after we saw the Shaolin Warriors in Kings Lynn in March. After just a couple of months, everyone was saying what a natural he is and the tutors asked him to take part in the annual tournament. Matthew was determined to have a go, stay calm and enjoy the day. He didn't expect to win but knew it was important just to do his best with the right attitude.

He did just that...
Result was a bronze and two gold medals.
Well Done Matthew!
